How to use the Partsref search engine
The search engine will search for part numbers, words in titles, categories, and key words. Type in your search words, separated by spaces. Press Enter, or click Search. The search results will be listed in order of relevance, with the best matches first.

Besides the part name and number, some parts have keywords associated with them. Keywords may be theme names, shapes, alternate names, or any other terms that could be associated with the part. Over time, more and more parts should have keywords.

If you want to make sure that all returned parts will include a specific word, put a plus sign (+) in front of it.

If you want to exclude all parts which match a specific word, put a minus sign (-) in front of it.

If you want to find all parts which match part of a term, put an asterisk (*) after that term.

Dimensions are usually entered as either two or three numbers, with an x between each number (no spaces!). Usually, width is the first dimension, followed by depth. If height is included, it will be the third number. Occasionally, depth and width are switched. Width and depth are usually measured in LEGO studs. Height is usually measured in bricks. Fractional height is expressed as 1/3 or 2/3 of a brick.

A few parts have sizes measured in LDU (LDraw units). An LDU is 1/20 as wide as a stud, or 1/24 the height of a brick. So a 1x1 brick is 20x20x24 LDU.

Tyres are dimensioned by their inner and outer diameters, which are often printed on the tyre itself.

Spelling in Partsref is a mix of conventions from different dialects of English.
